About the SNyMS General Assembly
The General Assembly is a body of the Swiss Network of Young Migration Scholars and, as such, meets once a year. As outlined in Article 9 of the SNyMS statutes, the General Assembly consists of the members of the Association and, amongst others, has the function and power to adopt and amend the Articles of Association, appoint and dismiss the members of the Executive Committee, and approve or reject programs and activities submitted by members or external actors.

The last General Assembly took place on the 21st of October 2024, at the University of Bern and online. On this occasion, we celebrated the 10th birthday of the Swiss Network of Young Migration Scholars and appointed a new Executive Committee.

Upon the GA, Barbara von Rütte delivered the thought-provoking keynote speech "The Right to Have Rights? The Right to Citizenship in a Migration Context", arguing that the right to citizenship should be strengthened on the basis of the principle of jus nexi, to offer effective protection for migrants’ human rights.
