Personal background: David Kaufmann is a Postdoctoral researcher at the KPM Center for Public Management, University of Bern. He focuses on policy analysis with a special interest in urban policies, migration policies, and asylum policies. David Kaufmann studied political science (B.A. and M.A.) at the University of Zürich and the University of Lund. His dissertation, obtained from the University of Bern in 2016, explained the formulation of locational policies in secondary capital cities (Bern, Ottawa, The Hague, and Washington, D.C.).
