Since 2013 Anna has been working as a PhD candidate at the Institute of Sociology at the University of Bern. Her dissertation project (“Lost in Transit? Fragmented Journeys of Young Migrants without Chances of Access in Europe”) looks at irregular migration and its intersection with asylum migration by way of an ethnographic approach.

Anna studied Social Anthropology, Sociology and Slavic Linguistics in Bern and Zurich. For her Master’s thesis on Translocality, Kinship and Marriage she conducted several months of ethnographic research in Indonesia.
